What happens in Vegas...stays in Vegas!

I should have realized something was wrong when I saw the small paper sign on the green calico cloth stuffed cat on the couch. It read, in very rudimentary scrawl, “I am Squik”. The food started piling up in the bowl. I thought something was up. What confirmed my suspicions was an email from a friend who’d gone to Vegas on business. She thought she’d seen Squeak! Bad Kitty had managed to make it to Las Vegas. It seems that, once again, she had gotten my credit card out of my wallet and gone online, managing to book airline tickets, hotel and transportation at my expense.

There were several “Squeak Sightings” as she made her way from casino to casino. After too much catnip, she donned show girl apparel and appeared in a nightclub act. Evidently, she also did quite well in a poker game. Her winnings are financing the purchase of more treats, toys, catnip and string. (Right… and I still have to buy kitty litter and cat food!) She stopped in to see Siegfried and Roy. Their many feline friends are avid fans of Squeak’s Adventures.

The CSI team also called Squeak in for a consult when they learned she was in town. She assisted in the investigation of a cat burglar. She dug several holes in the sand for the team. (Squeak gets plenty of practice in her litter box.) She had a chance to visit with her favorite CSI, Grissom. They both share a penchant for bugs. He collects them, she eats them.

Squeak has left the building! Actually, it was more like Squeak has been banned from the casinos and thrown out of Las Vegas. It seems she has the bad habit of chasing the little ball on the roulette wheel. After being warned repeatedly not to interfere with the wheel, Squeak, caught on camera, chased her last roulette ball. Unfortunately, she was winning at the time and did not take it well. Despite leaving before she wanted to, I am sure she will return. (I found a little Elvis costume under the bed yesterday.) You can bet it’s not the last Vegas will see of Squeak.
